The EC145 from VARIO is a 1050 size scale helicopter. You can power this remote-controlled model helicopter with electric propulsion. Airbus Helicopters together with Kawasaki are the creator of the man-carrying version. They continue to manufacture this helicopter together in a joint venture to this day.

The fuselage was designed by Vario using original CAD data. This data was provided as part of a licensing agreement with Airbus Helicopters. Vario is the only company to offer a kit of the EC145 based on such data. Realism is the standout feature of this model: thanks to its perfect proportions and overall size, the helicopter offers a high level of realism. There is ample space for cockpit detailing and external attachments. Thanks to the popular XL dome mechanics, the entire interior space is available.

This EC145 has a sister model – the equally sized H145, Ord.No. 1492. By swapping out the tail section, the model transforms into a completely different type of helicopter. In reality, the two models differ externally only in their concepts for torque compensation. The H145 is a particularly popular classic. With its Fenestron, the H145 is also the best-selling helicopter at Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth. Both versions offer a major advantage for flight operations: during landing, the tail rotor blades always have sufficient ground clearance.

For VARIO's 1050 EC145 we recommend a maximum main rotor speed of 850 rpm. Electric drive sets from VARIO are already tuned to this head speed.

Electric Mechanics XL 1002/1200

Our propulsion recommendation for this helicopter! Contemporary dome mechanics which is especially designed for the scale model electric flight and allows full cockpit detail. This mechanics is suitable for fuselage kit Ord.No. 1490.Electric motors are quiet, low in vibration, without exhaust gases and residual thrust. The blade slap noise of the rotor blades is more noticeable than with other types of propulsion and the result is a true-to-life impression in flight. For this electromechanical system in combination with this model we offer a drive set for 12S LiPos.

The EC145 was first delivered to the Hessen Police in 2002. It is in operation worldwide.
