The Exec from VARIO is a 1050 size scale helicopter. You can power this remote-controlled model helicopter with electric propulsion. RotorWay International is the creator of the man-carrying version and produces the full-size kit helicopter. The VARIO version has a detachable tail boom.
For VARIO's 1050 Exec we recommend a main rotor speed of approx. 900 rpm. Electric drive sets from VARIO are already tuned to this head speed.

Electric Mechanics 950/22
Our propulsion recommendation for this helicopter (fuselage kit Ord.No. 9500)! Electric motors are quiet, low in vibration, without exhaust gases and residual thrust. The blade slap noise sound of the rotor blades is more noticeable than with other types of propulsion and the result is a true-to-life impression in flight. For this electromechanical system we offer a drive set for 12S LiPos.
In early 2015, Vario was proud to be involved in an episode of the No. 1 German science TV show "Galileo". A production crew visited Vario, to learn more about a helicopter phenomenon called ground resonance. After beginning their investigation into ground resonance at Airbus in Donauwörth, Galileo then visited Vario for actual testing with the Vario Exec model. While attempting to create a resonance situation, our technicians learned it is very difficult to induce resonance in a Vario under normal conditions. Our techs had to improvise in order to initiate resonance, and even then they had to "work" very hard to cause an actual crash to occur. This inherent stability can be attributed to the outstanding design process that is a part of each Vario helicopter. Even though the "Galileo" Vario Exec did incure some damage during the experiment, it is now flying again thanks to Gerd von Runkel and his dedication to Vario.
