Manifolds and tuned pipes or silencers must be installed without touching each other, because the contact of these metal parts could cause radio interference. We can refer to this interference as "electric noise".
The connection by PTFE pipe enables the required distance of 10 - 15 mm in the prescribed position, and it steadily seals gas-tight. This extremely heat-resistant material, with 2.5 mm wall thickness and 20 mm I.D. will last a full season if handled carefully.
