The standard searchlight type fitted to full-size helicopters has a useful range of around 1 km.

This searchlight for model helicopters is fitted with an ultra-bright 10 mm LED, but does not require a separate battery as it can be powered from the receiver pack. Its outstanding features are its low current drain and light weight of only 70 g.
