The classic Benzin Trainer is well known for its reliability and can be installed into a wide range of fuselages, it is available in eight different combinations:

  • with rotor shaft diameter 10 / 12 mm
  • with flybar or flybarless
  • with or without motor / silencer.

This mechanical arrangement is an excellent choice for installation in any full fuselage helicopter which is designed for the petrol mechanics 1002/21, 1002/22 or 1002/23. Particularly attractive models include the Hughes 500, the Ecureuil and the Jet Ranger, whose size makes them perfect for this power system. Please note the shaft diameter. Only the large Vario Bo 105 with Ord.No. 6004 and the Air-Crane for gasoline mechanics Ord.No. 6400 are not suitable for this, for these the Acrobatic mechanics are used.

Our aim was to produce a flying mechanical system with two-stage reduction gearbox, able to exploit the full power of a petrol engine. Excellent flight handling in every situation was also required.

The result is the VARIO Benzin Trainer with a reduction ratio of 9.1. : 1 at 1780 mm rotor disc.

The maximum payload of the Benzin Trainer is approx. 4 kg.

The agile Petrol Trainer is designed for the 23 cc Zenoah engine, with integral cooling fan. This engine has been specially modified to suit the VARIO Petrol Trainer and Petrol Mechanics. The engine produces its maximum power at a speed of around 9,500 - 10,500 rpm. Fuel required is an oil/petrol mixture of 1 : 40. The petrol engine features an integral pull-cord starter and cooling fan, which draws cooling air precisely over the cylinder head.

Main and tail rotor blades are included in the kit.

The model is supplied in kit-form, i.e. not assembled.

Der Vario Benzintrainer hilft bei der Überwachung von Rentierherden auf Grönland und Island. Im Bild neben dem Benzintrainer zu sehen sind Gunnar Stefansson von der Universität Reykjavik, Fachbereich Logistik, Professor Ettrich, dessen Hochschule Offenburg den Autopiloten den Benzintrainer entwickelt hat und Kirsten Zodtner, Vario Helicopter. Der Benzintrainer ist mit Zusatztanks versehen. Damit kann er über 2 Stunden seine Mission fliegen.
