The installation of dummy navigation lights gives nearly no trouble even if you mount them after the model is finished.
Painting the rounding as if a navigation lamp were used is very effective. It depends on the type of heli and on your own ideas whether you paint the residual lamp holder in silver or in the basic colour of the fuselage.
