The Alouette II from VARIO is a 700, resp. 750 size scale helicopter. You can power this remote-controlled model helicopter with turbine or electric propulsion. Aérospatiale is the creator of the man-carrying version.

For VARIO's 750 Alouette II we recommend a maximum main rotor speed of 1350 rpm. Electric drive sets from VARIO are already tuned to this head speed.

The construction of the Alouette II is appealing, as there is not much typical GRP work to do. The lightweight and rigid lattice fuselage contributes significantly to the model's high flying performance and ensures good access to the mechanical components.

You can convert the Alouette II into a Lama by converting it to a 3-blade tail rotor. The specially developed rear rotor supplement sets are recommended for this conversion.

T-Rex version

Kit Ord.No. 3007 is adapted to the T-Rex 700 mechanics (until vintage 2011 / version DFC / DFC-Dominator). For later versions from November 2016 onwards, the supplementary set Ord.No. 307/100 is required. We nevertheless recommend a VARIO mechanics due to the by far more suitable main rotor speed. You have the option of converting the T-Rex rotor head to a true-to-life 3-blade rotor head.

A special feature of this model is the detachable nose section, which makes a battery change easy.

If you want to implement the 3 blade-tail rotor, which is typical for a Lama, the tail rotor fittings set Ord.No. 92/87 developed especially for the T-Rex Lama is recommended.

Modifications for T-Rex up to 2011

With the fuselage of the Alouette II and the dynamics of the Alouette III, the full size SA 315 Lama has gained high esteem for operations in hot regions and high mountainous areas (India / Himalayas, South America / Andes). Apart from the higher skid landing gear without wheels, the immediately recognizable difference to the Alouette II is the electronic control panels in the cockpit, and the 3-blade tail rotor. To this day, the Lama is the only helicopter capable of transporting another helicopter of the same type, and in the summer of 1969, it achieved a record altitude of 12,442 meters.
